Constellation

Introduction

The Blueprint HOPE Living Systems Constellation is a reimagining of what has traditionally been called an organizational chart—a way of mapping the functions within a whole and how they relate and work together.

Traditional organizational charts usually show hierarchy—top to bottom, leadership to support, decision-makers to implementers.

The Constellation begins somewhere different.

Rather than starting with positions, titles, or levels of authority, it begins with the functions a living system may need—and the relationships between them.

Its orientation is a circle.

A circle reflects wholeness, where all parts exist in relationship and contribute to the integrity of the whole.

Functions do not exist in isolation. Each affects and is affected by others, with information, resources, insight, and responsibility able to move throughout the system.

Rather than defining levels, the Constellation reveals relationships.

All functions orient toward a shared center—the North Star:

Remembrance. Restoration. Coherence. Thrival.

The center provides shared orientation and direction without requiring every part of the system to operate in the same way.

The inner circle reflects core system functions—the foundational capacities that help support structure, flow, stewardship, and coherence.

The outer circle reflects how those functions may be expressed in lived and applied ways.

The pathways between them represent connection and movement—not rigid lines of authority—with influence, information, insight, and resources able to flow in multiple directions.

The Constellation is not intended to be a conventional organizational chart arranged in a different shape.

It is a way of exploring how people, functions, relationships, and responsibilities might work together as parts of a living whole.

The functions shown here do not necessarily represent individual jobs or people. One person might carry several functions. A function might be shared by several people. And as real people, relationships, needs, and possibilities emerge, the structure itself may change.

That is intentional.

The Living Systems Constellation reflects the current vision—not a finished organizational structure.

It offers enough architecture to provide orientation while leaving room for the actual structure to grow from what the work, and the people who eventually steward it together, genuinely require.
