Sometimes the ideas behind Blueprint HOPE are easiest to see in the smallest, most ordinary places.
Creating the Conditions began with an empty bird bath in a quiet backyard and grew into an unexpected observation of what happens when we pay attention, respond to what we notice, and create small conditions where life can thrive.
It also comes from what I affectionately call Brendalyrameda™ —my slightly unconventional way of observing everyday life, usually with equal parts curiosity, humor, wonder, and a willingness to follow a pattern wherever it leads.
In this particular corner of Brendalyrameda, the participants include birds, a squirrel named Boo, neighborhood cats, yellowjackets, deer, a remarkably resilient rosebush—and one human who gradually realizes she isn't actually in charge of any of them.
What emerges is both playful and deeply connected to the work of Blueprint HOPE:
living systems, relationships, tension, adaptation, distributed care, and the possibilities that can emerge when we focus less on controlling outcomes and more on creating the conditions.
